Interior Designer

Sector: Commercial (Veterinary Clinics)

Start Date: Late Summer 2025

Status: Full-time (35 hours/week), 100% remote work

Job Description

We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our team for commercial projects in clinical environments (veterinary clinics) across Canada and the United States. The ideal candidate will be involved in all phases of the design process, from concept development to coordination and the production of technical documents.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of creative design concepts
  • Design interior layouts tailored to client needs and technical constraints
  • Model spaces in 3D using SketchUp and produce renderings and videos with Enscape
  • Conduct material research and prepare visual presentation documents (plans, renderings, options)
  • Prepare presentation materials and participate in client presentations under the supervision of the project manager
  • Produce and revise technical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Review shop drawings
  • Assist in coordination with external stakeholders (contractors, technologists, engineers, suppliers, etc.)
  • Collaborate closely with architects, technologists, engineers, suppliers, and other partners
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication on project progress
  • Identify potential issues and take proactive measures to address them
  • Ensure compliance of design proposals with applicable codes and regulations
  • Monitor construction progress and provide site support as needed (optional, depending on the project)

Candidate Profile

Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma (DEC) in Interior Design, or any relevant related field

Experience :

  • 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in an architectural firm
  • Experience in commercial and/or clinical design (veterinary, dental, etc.) is a plus

Technical Skills :

  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Proficient in SketchUp
  • Knowledge of Enscape plugin — an asset
  • Knowledge of Revit — an asset
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) — an asset

General Skills :

  • Excellent command of both French and English (spoken and written)
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Team spirit and professional interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of commercial suppliers
  • Autonomy, rigor, initiative, and a solution-oriented attitude

Working Conditions

  • Permanent full-time position (35 hours per week)
  • 100% remote work with flexible schedule
  • Equipment provided according to your preferences (computer, desk, chair, monitor, etc.)
  • Five weeks of vacation per year (including 2 weeks during the holiday season)
  • Group insurance including telemedicine, employee assistance program, and travel insurance
  • Employer-matched retirement savings plan (RRSP)

Job Description

We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented architect to join our team working on commercial projects specializing in clinical environments (veterinary clinics) across Canada and the United States. The ideal candidate will be involved in all stages of the design process—from conceptual design to coordination and the production of technical documentation.

  • Participate in all project phases: sketches, preliminary plans, permit drawings, and construction documents
  • Contribute to conceptual development and research of creative and functional solutions

Candidate Profile

Education :

  • Master’s degree in architecture
  • Registration or in-process application for membership with the Ordre des Architectes du Québec (OAQ)
  • Current or completed architectural internship

Experience :

  • 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in an architectural firm
  • Experience in commercial and/or clinical design (veterinary, dental, etc.) is a plus
  • Involvement in all project phases (design, permit drawings, construction, site coordination)
  • Experience with BIM tools (Revit), modeling software (SketchUp, Enscape), and technical document production
  • Experience coordinating with consultants and external stakeholders (engineers, clients, municipalities, etc.)
  • Participation in site follow-ups or partial construction supervision (an asset for intermediate-level candidates)

Technical Skills :

  • Proficient in a BIM software, primarily Revit
  • Strong knowledge of technical drawing software: AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent
  • Skilled in modeling and presentation software: SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
